SHIP-NEXT cohort
A random sample of men and women aged 20 - 79 years from Western Pomerania. The scope of examination is comparable to the previous SHIP cohorts. However, SHIP-NEXT also includes a “One-Health” module. As part of this, not only humans are examined but also their livestock, including dogs, pets, and poultry.
Data Collection Event
SHIP - Next cohort - NEXT-0
Information is collected about sociodemographic characteristics, addiction and risk behaviours, health behaviours, diseases, animal contacts (pets such as dogs, cats, poultry/pigeons), risk factors for zoonotic transmission, and animal husbandry.
Physical measures include anthropometry, bioelectrical impedance, ultrasound scans (heart and other organs), dental status, periodontal status, eye movements and eye health, voice quality, gait, foot pressure, MRI and hand scan, pulmonary function test, a bicycle stress test, and daily activity (actimeter and GPS logger).
Biosamples include hair and nail clippings.
